I've been trying to do a different approach to discipline lately. I just felt like I was constantly saying, "NO!", "Stop!", & "Don't do that!". Instead we reward puff balls in a jar for doing good things.
It helps them be rewarded for good things & it helps me notice good things they do. They wanted to earn pajamas (Syd picked Tinkerbell & Rob picked Spiderman). They finally earned it & were SO EXCITED!
I love this cute idea. We're currently doing a sticker chart (for every 10 stickers they get 1 prize at the store...hehe the Dollar store). It's amazing what kids will do for prizes!
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea, and I love the reward.
ReplyDeleteOnce again I want to steal your idea because you and it are so awesome!
ReplyDeleteDebbie- I actually considered doing stickers after you told me that. But now they are stuck on puff balls. So, I'll have to wait.
ReplyDeleteKatie- I know! They were so exctied too!
Sandi- Please steal my ideas! I will totally steal yours!
How much do I love this!!! I try to do this in managing my people here at work. What a great idea!! :)
ReplyDeleteGREAT idea!
ReplyDeleteDanielle- Yes, I wish I got to earn stuff by filling up my puff ball jar. You should have them earn PJ's. I like that idea. :)
ReplyDeleteM- I know... man, you probably know from your nephews but having the close together is a blast but so much work!
They both must have done some really good things to earn their PJ's
ReplyDeletelove it. like the rest has said, i will be stealing this idea.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I want to do something like this for Jack. Does Rob get the concept? I wasn't sure if Jack would really understand cause and effect very well yet? I don't know, maybe I'm underestimating him?...
