Ikea Picture Family Tree

Does anyone remember a while back when I blogged about loving this idea from Ikea where they made a family tree on the wall & then had framed pictures (pic on the left).

Well, I went to Ikea the other day & ran into a similar room but with what I thought was a MUCH cuter tree (the one on the right)...

It's painted on, while the older one was the vinyl decals they sold there. I still love the idea. Even more after seeing it again.

  1. I like the newer version better, but until they come up with vinyl for that....not going to happen at my house. I am the great non-crafter.

  2. I'm sure you could pull off painting it... but if you want it in a vinyl version, I'm sure Kim Goddard could do it. I sent her a picture of the flowers I wanted in darci's room and she totally recreated it for me! And vinyl is easier on so many levels. Oh, and she is really inexpensive. A win-win.

  4. Ohhhh pretty blog!!! Just found you via Lisa Spew*

Here's a tree-on-wall tutorial I just found. Might be helpful. Skip the vinyl on the wall. So-last-decade.

  5. I've seen a few family tree ideas. I have them saved so someday when I have a wall I can pick what style actually fits me best. :) (The one I've seen is a a tree split into two (vertically) and the two pieces are in two frames next to each other. It's kinda fun. But I like this idea too.
