American Idol Confusion

I was watching American Idol last night & I noticed when they were showing the Top 12 girls & Top 12 guys that the group shot includes this guy...

But when they introduce them one by one he's not there. Instead there's this guy...

Am I crazy? Did anyone else notice this? Normally I wouldn't even pay attention but that kid on the top pic has REALLY distinctive hair & the guy in the bottom pic has really non-distinctive hair.

I wonder what's up.
