Robs Blessing Brunch

I have to say I love planning parties. I'm glad we live in a new place which is a bit more conducive to parties. I used to work at the BYU Museum of Arts as an Events Planner & I really miss it now (though I don't miss the nightmare brides whose weddings I had to help plan). So, it was fun to have a little "before the blessing" brunch. Here are a couple of pictures- we had brunch food, I made these "pom-pom flowers" (idea taken from Martha Stewart) & potted some wheat grass. I was also able to make use of my pretty cake plates & I made a cake! All in all, a great day!

P.S. A couple party planning ideas I used for this event were: Martha Stewart has taught us that you can still have streamers at an adult party, fancy bottled sodas look really nice on the table, chose a color theme for the party, table cloths are a must, & display food in many levels.

Sydney loved your chocolate cake. While I was scraping the last bits from my plate, she crawled on the sofa next to me, looked at my plate and said, "Bees! Bees! Bees!" Which, of course, means "Please can I have some chocolate cake crumbs???" She didn't stop saying "Bees" until there was no trace of chocolate on my plate. You may have noticed she was crazy about mango, too. She kept sneaking in to the kitchen to grab pieces of mango off the plate, until I got worried that she'd make herself sick and carried it away. Mango girl!
