REVIEW: Breaking Dawn Part 2

I know, how could I have waited so long to post about the crazy, mad night for Breaking Dawn Part 2. My only excuse is the craziness of life, problems with the blog, & also not having any idea of what to say about it. I guess to sum it up I'll say: I loved it & hated it.

And that pretty much sums up how I've felt about all of the movies. I mean, for reals, there is nothing, I say NOTHING is like sitting with a theater full of like-minded individuals ready to cheer, chant, scream, and boo where it is needed. And it was needed.
Without giving anything away because, people, seeing this movie is like a one-way ticket to crazy-town I'll say it was my least favorite book and while this movie is in fact significantly better than the book (thank goodness for some action and less heavy handedness) it was probably my least favorite movie. But it was good too, you know? I couldn't explain it to Scott either, but I think some of you know what I mean. And the montage at the end left me teary, so I suppose that means a lot too.
And I though I was up to my eyeballs in stress & drink stirrers I had a blast with our giveaways, matching shirts, laughing, eating popcorn and having a blast with my friends! It's sad that these days of renting out a theater & making matching shirts for Twilight themed events is over but I will have some fabulous memories. Thank you to Esther, my partner in theater-renting-crime!

And let's be honest the fact that we have 3 fantastic book to big screen adaptations coming next year makes up for it: The Host, City of Bones, & Catching Fire.

Perhaps shirts for those events? Anyone? Anyone?

Past Twilight movie premires: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, & Breaking Dawn Part 1, Twilight movie release party, New Moon DVD release party, Borders before the movie comes out "discussion night", LBG Twilight DVD watching party night,
Past Twilight book fun: That time I met Stephanie Meyers & An LBG bookgroup about Breaking Dawn,

AND because I love you guys endlessly for A) reading my ramblings and B) being awesome I'm  giving away one of our one-of-a-kind totally awesome J. Jenks shirts with some other awesome Twilight themed goodies.

Leave a comment sharing your all-time favorite Twilight moment- movie or book and you'll be entered in to win this awesomeness (make sure I have a way of contacting you too) I'll leave it open for until Saturday the 8th at midnight!

Shirts & a Show

So, my wonderful sis-in-law, Kristal, is skilled (she crochets, she sews, & she is a photographer) & she agreed to give me a tutorial on using my Yudu Screen Printer. I've had it for a while but haven't done anything because I've been too freaked out to try it.

So, Scott & I put our designing heads together & made a quick design for a Hunger Games shirt- I'm a big fan. They aren't anything innovative or interesting but we were pressed for time. Then Kristal & I spent the day printing them. It was rushed (they were designed & printed in 24 hours) but it sure was fun!

Tonight we went to the movie- a friend of ours rented a theater for an early screening. I won't say anything more than I loved the movie. It was harder to watch the violence then read it but I felt like it wasn't terribly gratuitous & it stayed as true to the book as a movie could.

And tell me I don't have THE BOMB HUSBAND who not only wore his "District 12" shirt with me to the movie, but also all day at work. I sure do love that fellow.

For those who have seen it, what did you think?

BREAKING DAWN: the movie

Oh, the joys of these darn awful/wonderful/cringe worthy/romantic Twilight movies. BREAKING DAWN did nothing but continue my belief that these movies are the most simultaneously WONDERFUL & AWFUL franchise EVER (and I mean that with all the love in my heart)!

We had an awesome group at the theater (thank you all for coming & being so much darn fun to hang out with) as well as giveaways, treats, laughing/eww-ing/screaming by the bucket load & it was all just fabulous!

The shirts turned out great & we had a HUGE group wearing them. Even more than are in this picture (& lots who weren't with our group too) WOOT!

P.S. Past Twilight movie fun: Twilight, New Moon, & Eclipse

Hunger Games: Movie News

I tend to not worry too much about the casting in movies from my favorite books. Even if at first the actors seem REALLY wrong for the parts with a dye job, make up, loosing/putting on weight, etc they always seem to turn out great.

Thankfully after seeing these promo shots for the main actors for Hunger Games I'm so excited. They look perfect!

And if you don't know the rest of the cast, it looks like it's going to be uber-some big name actors that I think could be awesome for their parts.

1. President Snow 2. Ceaser Flickerman 3. Effie Trinket
4. Haymitch Abernathy 5. Cinna 6. Claudius Templesmith

If you don't know what I'm talking about then get thee forth to my house to borrow the Hunger Games trilogy before March 23, 2012 when the movie is released!

What do you guys think?
Are you as excited as I am?

A lovely weekend

FRIDAY night Scott & I went on a date with some of Scott's work friends. As you might remember last time we MEGA dressed up with Scott's family, this time we decided to go low key with some "deathly hallow" shirts I made.

As always it was a blast! Loved the movie, had fun with friends, & enjoyed a night out!

SATURDAY we did a lot of house/yard/car work then in the evening headed over to the annual Llama Festival. The kids had a blast!

Happy HARRY POTTER Day!

1. Love this shirt
2. Golden snitch cake pops
3. Cute cards
4. Adorable freezer stencil shirt
5. Harry Potter puppets
7. Labels for your sodas
8. Yet another "keep calm" poster but HP theme
9. Gorgeous remade covers to all the HP books!

And can you believe how the cast has grown up?

Especially that Neville Longbottom. I don't even recognize him!

"Gnomeo & Juliet"

It's been raining here for like EVER. It seems like it's never going to end & I'll be honest I don't do well under cloudy skies.

To combat the growing gloom the kids & I hit up the dollar movie to see "Gnomeo & Juliet":

I know, considering my love of gnomes, it's crazy that I haven't seen this movie yet. It ended up being pretty good. Great gnome humor & interesting animation. A lot went over the head of Syd & Rob, but they still enjoyed it.

Has anyone else seen this movie?
What did you guys think?

Review: TANGLED

To hide the frigid temperatures (hello, high of 10 degrees) the kids & I hit up a matinee of TANGLED & we all really enjoyed it (yes, me too).

Syd loved the funny parts. Rob loved the music. And my favorite part was that the "prince" had more personality then just the stand in dude for the princess to marry & this guy was a great "bad boy" character too.

Did anyone else see it? What did you guys think?

INCEPTION: a visual timeline

Saw this on Twitter (linked to here).

Don't worry you folks who haven't seen INCEPTION, this won't spoil anything. I've seen the movie & I was still like "Wha?!?"

For those of you that have see it what do you think? Pretty sweet, huh?

I'm prejudice against DiCaprio

If you were to ask me to name an actor I don't like, Leonardo DiCaprio might top my list. There's something sort of slimy/chumpy/greasy about him.

However, Scott & I went to go see INCEPTION last night (we heard it was great, but knew NOTHING about it) & we LOVED it.

So, I was thinking back to all the movies I've seen him in & realized he's a pretty amazing actor. I've loved him in everything I've seen.

Inception
Shutter Island (some poo-poo it, we liked it)
Blood Diamond
The Aviator
Catch Me if You Can
Titanic (yes, I liked Titanic)
Romeo + Juliet (I still love this movie)
All the way back to, What's Eating Gilbert Grape

I guess what I'm saying is maybe, maybe, I've rethought my distaste for him.

And, it has nothing to do with it but I still don't like Megan Fox.

Who saw Inception?
Did you love it?
Hate it?
Am I alone in my distaste of Leo?

ECLIPSE: the movie

I can't even tell you how much I love midnight releases. Eclipse did not disappoint & it was a great way to kick of my birthday too!

We started off at Chilli's consuming copious amounts of Diet Coke so we could stay awake for the movie (and yes, that's me in a crazy birthday hat)

Once we got inside we did our giveaways (books, CDs, DVDs, candy, etc) & trivia, then enjoyed the movie.

THE MOVIE: I mean, it's Twilight, so you are gonna have the "CHEESE factor" turned on high, but ah, I love the cheese in this form. It's like that nacho cheese. Smooth & spicy. (yes, that makes no sense)

A COUPLE MOVIE POINTS:
1. This movie actually made me waver on my Team Jacob-ness. (can't put my finger on why yet)
2. Edward wasn't nearly as creepy jealous in this movie as he was in the book, but it was controlling enough to creep-fest me out.
3. Loved the "Does this guy own a shirt?" line because the naked chest-ness seemed more excessive placed this movie (just me?)
4. Loved Bellas monologue at the end. Really, her motives were WAY better than the book.
5. Bella's wig bugged me a good chunk of the movie.

Okay, guys, what'd you think? Give me your reviews!

P.S. Past Twilight movie fun here & here.
