When I knew I was a grown up....

Occasionally I have these "a-ha" moments when I realize that I am an adult... So, one day I was eating a big jar of trail mix. I remember cringing as I popped an almond & raisin in my mouth. But, since childhood I was taught that I couldn't pick through the trail mix. I had to just take a handful and enjoy it. As I sat chewing angrily, thinking about how they need to put more peanuts & chocolate in the mix, I had an epiphany! "I bought this trail mix" I thought. "I went to work 9am-5pm and made the money that caused me to be able to buy this mix. If I don't want to eat the almonds or raisins I don't have to". I gleefully smiled & continued to eat only the chocolate & peanuts leaving that darn healthy stuff behind. Thinking about it now though, I probably should have just bought a bag of peanut M&M's.

The unexplored option is even better: buy the ingredients you like and make it yourself. It costs half as much and give you just what you want! ;-)
