Meat, meat, meat....

So, we went to Yakima, WA for Christmas. Scott's sister, Emily, & brother-in-law, Russ, live there. Russ grew up on a little farm where they had a cow that they raised themselves & then take to the butcher. They then put the meat in a big freezer & have all these cuts of meat all year long to eat.

I love this idea (& will find a way to do it someday) for a couple reasons:
#1 It's all organic-y
#2 It's low fat (b/c they are alfalfa fed)
#3 You have all sorts of cuts of meat right there when you want them
#4 It forces me to figure out a recipe that uses an "arm roast"

Em & Russ were kind enough to share the love & gave us a little cooler with meat in it. I'm excited to get started on some recipes. Ah me.... I like meat! To find your own farmer to buy your goods from check it out here.

Liv,

What a wonderful blog. It was fun to read. Just so you know though, it was more than "a" beef. It was actually about 3 1/2 cows.

It was so much fun to see you guys over the break.
