I read The Poisonwood Bible when I was teaching English in China & it spoke SO strongly to me after my experiences there.
I was worried when I re-read it recently that it wouldn't mean as much. BUT it was still amazing after the second read. If you haven't read this book I definitely recommend it. It's not an easy read I shed some tears but it's worth it.

I also loved it - and I read it near the beginning of my trip to Russia. I thought it went on too long, I would have liked it to end when they were still children (that's just a pet peeve I have, when a book keeps going)
Here, here - I second the recommendation. It's a fantastic book; one of my favs!
I do have to agree with Stephanie though; it's a great book but the end kind of drags a bit.
Ooo ooo, you can let me borrow this one! What the heck, when did you just read this? You read so fast!!!!
Mary just finished this and loved it which made me happy because I loved it too! I don't remember a lot of specifics but I do know it made me happy.
