Saturday I was cleaning the car while the kids napped, all of the sudden I hear Sydney calling "Mama! Mama!" I look out the windshield to see Syd on the porch...
Yes, Sydney can now get out of her bed. So, we switched her crib into a lil' bed. She did well until last night. Last night at 10pm she fell out of bed (all of 6 inches) & FREAKED. Then at about 1 am she woke up & would NOT go back to bed. It was awful. I need a lil' cage for her to sleep in now!

i remember those days! we used to build up a pallett of blankets and pillows next to their beds so when they 'fell'---it was more of a roll.
We put Rae in a toddler bed when she was just a little over 1 because she was always getting her arms and legs through the crib bars and getting stuck. Well, the toddler bed still wasn't big enough for her, because she constantly fell out of it. One night she fell out and then rolled or crawled or something UNDERNEATH the bed! I went in the room and couldn't find her anywhere! She was laying on the floor on her back under the bed and just totally freaked out. Needless to say, she didn't want to sleep in it for a while. She was probably about 14 months old when we got her a twin sized bed so she would have more room!
We put Elizabeth in a full size bed (that we already had) at around 16 months. She's fallen out a few times, but stuff like that doesn't phase her. She never liked the crib, though, and I've never been able to get Amelia into the crib, so we just took it down. I'm hoping that by the time Amelia is around 18 months I'll be able to get the two of them to share that full size bed and they can sleep with each other instead of their parents.
