Spoon River Anthology

Has anyone read Spoon River Anthology? It's hands-down one of my very favorite books. It's a collection of poems which is each a first person "personal epitaph" of citizens from a fictional town of Spoon River.

I love the personality, the interweave of stories, & the beautiful writing. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it & anyone who hasn't read it in a while.

It was really popular in the poetry recitation competitions I used to judge, so I've heard a lot of it, but never actually read it.

I remember reading parts of that for theatre classes in high school. Some very cool character creations and all-around cool, quirky poems. Funny you mention it here, as I was just thinking about it the other day for some reason, wondering if anyone ever read it any more. Good job digging it up!
