Organization

Along with the cleaning thing (ie: me being a very messy person) I am a very disorganized person.

Back in the day I wrote about wanting to get more organized & I forgot to mention that, from that day forth, this has been my main way to do it...Don't look at my profile, just look at the lovely thing in my hands. Hurray for planners! Seriously, that thing changed my life. Anyone who knew me "pre-planner" knows its true.

The key, for me, was to make the planner my wallet. That way I take it with me everywhere. Anyone else planner people?

I have tried so many times to do the planner thing and it has never worked for me...i ended up having to do this big wall calendar thing that i found at pottery barn and so far it has worked but this is the first month of it so we shall see...good for you for getting organized and thats a totally cute planner.

Over two years ago, I started seeing these mom calendar (to put up on the fridge) and, after resisting for some weeks (because I didn't think I really needed one), I finally acquired one - they just seemed too fun with stickers for events and the big squares for notes, and cheap (10$ at Costco or Walmart).

Turns out I DO have a lot of stuff to jot down, what with the doctor, dentist and shots appointments, activities with friends, birthdays and everything.

Oh, here's one link for the mom calendars:

There was another format with prettier artwork before, too, but they don't seem to sell it anymore.

Works for me... the only way I can stay on top of everything.

My planner is my wallet too! I am also naturally a very disorganized person too and it has helped a lot. What I don't like is that I can just replace the insides of my planner but each year it starts looking so gross by the end that I really just want to buy a new one (so I do :o)

i carry a planner, post-it notes to put on my calendar in my planner, multiple little binders to write lists on to stick in my planner and little post-it flags to highlight things on the papers stuck next to the post-its in my planner....and its my wallet...but i always carry a purse

Alas, mine is all on my computer calendar. That way I am sent reminders for the times my brain stops working. It warns me of birthdays in advance, for example. (Which doesn't guarantee I get the cards out on time.) I use Google calendar so I can get to it anywhere. Mike and I use the same one so we don't schedule conflicting appointments. Modern life is just too complicated!
