Youth Dance

This is true documentation of me sitting by & watching puberty happen.

I work with the youth at our church and this weekend they had a little retreat thing followed by dinner & a dance. I was one of the chaperons at the dance.Part of me was kind of pumped. I LOVED DANCES like this when I was that age.

But it was difficult to even watch- girls taller than boys, the electric slide, girls rejecting boys, at least 3 girls brought to tears & being comforted by friends in the corner.
All I can say is that I am so thankful that I'm done with that gawky, awkward pubescent time.

LOL - dances were such drama. They were fun and horrible all at the same time. Glad to be done with that! What calling do you have?

No seriously, I am so glad that's over. And I just want to shout at all teenagers and tell them that it WILL get better. It has to. It certainly can't get worse!

Ashley was a total babe and guys always asked her to dance. Seriously. I was a very awkward 14 year old - my first few years of dances were spenting watching my friends get asked to dance. (shudder) I am so with you. Thank goodness it gets better.

Amen, sister. I am so glad to be done with high school in general, and dances in particular. Now when I go dancing, I know my partner wants to dance every slow song with me.

Ugh, I remember that phase. What can you do as a leader but just gently help them through it? You're awesome!

The only thing worse than these dances were the student dances in college. I hated those.
