I'm desperately working on Syd's Halloween costume & it's taking forever... maybe I should have just followed a pattern?
Making it up as you go along takes a lot of trial & error.
After working on it for hours last night I went to bed with a sore back & Berto promptly threw up
(I think the youth fed him too many cookies at their activity last night b/c he seems just peachy this morning).
And then I had a nightmare that Syd told me she hated Tinkerbell & wanted to be an octopus.
No really... it was a nightmare.

can't wait to see the finished product. i'm sure it'll be great!
yes that would be quite the nightmare considering all the time you've put into her costume! Can't wait to see it!
Ok I love that even your lamp looks like it's decorated beautifully with flowers. Good luck on the costume. Ours will just be a tutu/leotard and she'll have to tell people what she is. Haha. But Hey she's down with that and so am I.
For what it's worth I did see a cool Octopus balloon at Partyland yesterday.
LOL I had the whole bobbin mechanism on my machine fall apart on me last night, one monkey ear shy of finishing the kids' costumes. So frustrating. I fixed it, but had to finish the ear this morning before playgroup.
That's so funny, I've had a few dreams about sewing lately myself. I can't wait to see what you did! I bet it's amazing!
Smithy- I'm just glad its done & she was happy!
Es- I totally am following a pattern next time. Coming up with a concept & then figuring out how to execute it is a pain in that you-now-what.
Debbie- Ha! They are just stuck up there to spice the lamp up a bit! But thanks! P.S. your girls looked SO CUTE!
Christie- Ugh. I hate when stuff like that happens. I'm an idiot & did mostly hand sewing on mine. Took so much longer.
Cindy- thats because you've been sewing amazing stuff!
You are very talented missy! I love that you made her costume. The neckline with the ruffles...sooo adorable and then to know that you didnt use a pattern...WOW you are amazing! Great job!
