The Silver Lining

Shopping with my mom & the kids is a lot of work for me. Some days I pull my hair out & think... "Why am I doing this to myself?"

But then I see moments like this, & I remember why I do it. They all LOVE IT so much, it makes it worth it (most of the time- ha!)

Riding on Grandma's walker or with her on the grocery store scooter are their favorite parts (& grandma always brings them chocolate)

How many kids have a grandma with their own personal rides they can hop on & enjoy?

Sometimes you just gotta look for the silver lining.

It's also a great way to teach your kids about love and service. Hopefully they'll see first-hand how much you love your mom and how well you take care of her and want to emulate that when they grow up (and maybe even before, though probably not as teenagers too much). How is your mom doing? I tried calling her the other day but only had her old number (I know, terrible--shows how often I DON'T call!).

Just remember the scripture "When saw we thee, a stranger..." etc. Or think of it as Karma.

I have learned that there is always a silver lining... you just have to look for it and sometimes its harder to find than other times!

my sister-in-law's father was in a wheelchair her whole life...so she remembers doing joyrides in his wheelchair and loving it....never thought of it as being a problem! its the way you raise them...and you are doing a great job.

It's all about perspective, huh? You really are teaching your children a great lesson about taking care of people.
