NANO Finale

So, I totally spaced that yesterday was the last day of the National Novel Writing Month. HA! I was so close but just missed the 50,000 word count by a hair (by 6,700-ish words). But I do feel like I got a lot done & I'll finish those last few words tonight.

The writing I did, even though MOST of it is just terrible & not fit for ANYONE to read (a good chunk is jibber jabber), was a good to jump start some failed creativity I was having. Right now I'm plotting out a new idea & have a couple more stored in the back of my head for the future.

As I mentioned before, it's difficult when you're a mom to find time to write. As you could probably tell by looking through pictures I squeeze in time when I find it (while cooking dinner, at the McDonalds Playplace, at the park, in the car while Scott's driving, while the kids play outside, & during rare nap times).

It takes work & a tiny bit of creativity to make the time, especially while not feeling like I neglect the kiddos. A few of my favorites are typing on the kids baby table while the kids played outside with friends & while they are in the bath (they don't want to play with me then anyway).

So, who is going to join me next year?

I wish, but I'm not nearly as creative as you. I don't think I could write more than 10 pages.

I am so impressed!
I had to throw in the towel last week as my schoolwork was beginning to seriously suffer. I figured my husband would like it if I was working hard at the class he was paying for....and I would probably appreciate it as well in the long run. Next year, I am not taking a class so I can do it for real!
Most of my stuff was junk too, but still, it was a good exercise.

Em & Russ- I'll bet you totally could. It's just a matter of sitting down & writing it. I do like epic books but I also like the simple stories.

Cat- I know it was crazy work! And like I said most was drivel. And schools gotta come first- but next year let's do it together!

April- Yeah, probably not. I've kind of sworn off showing people. At least not until it's done. It messes with the groove I think. But maybe... for some crab cocktail.

Debbie- YES! Totally! Next year we'll do it together. It would have been nice to have a friend pushing me along. I had to kind of make myself do it. Which is harder!!!

Cindy- Someday I'll let you read somthing. A short story maybe? I'm so shy though. Eeeekkk!

Anelieze- You are so nice to me! Oh, you are ready! Next year! You and me, sister. Writing buddies!
