Review: The Princess & The Frog

Avoiding more unpacking, the Carter family decided to go see The Princess & The Frog.
I thought it was a very sweet movie: the animation was beautiful, the New Orleans & jazz culture was fun, & the music was all sorts of "toe-tapping" goodness.

It was however a tad scary. I was surprised. I mean, I know all Disney movies have a "bad guy" but this one seems a little excessive (even by Disney standards). Syd was definitely a little freaked & covered her eyes. Berto fell asleep within the first 20 min (no fault of the movie, just too much excitement).

I liked these reviews here & here.

Reagan loved the bad guy... but she is really into the bad guys right now, dont ask me where that came from.

OK, so I'm not imagining things that the bad guy in this movie was a little more spooky than normal for Disney. It seemed more "real" to me, I guess, probably because the setting is more modern and harder to dismiss as fantasy.

Berto fell asleep when we saw The Fox movie...guess the excitement puts him to sleep. We sure love those grandkiddos. Now the house is too quiet.

My sister in law was making a big deal about how dark and evil this movie was. (Although to be honest based on her other movie choices I was just figuring she is a little too senstive) so it's interesting to hear others opinions too. I'm excited to see it though and I'm glad for the heads up of the -bit to far creep factor. :)
