Writing Party

I am currently at Barnes & Noble having a writing party with my friend Smithy. She mentioned having a lot of papers to write for school & that maybe we could have a little marathon together.

Our conversation:

ME: "So, what are you writing about?"
SMITHY: "Oh, it's about genetic predisposition to addiction and it's influence on the criminal justice system."
*insert a nonchant flip of her hair*
ME: "Oh..."
SMITHY: "So, what are you writing about?"
ME: "Errr... see it's about this girl who finds out.... You know? Nevermind."

Ha, nothing like writing next to a soon-to-be law school graduate to make you feel on the less cerebral side.

But, seriously, love writing marathons. Need to do it more often. All I need is a writing group! Anyone? Anyone? Right now I feel like most of what I'm churning out is unengaging drivel. So, no intimidation here.

I think it's awesome that you're writing. Inspiring, really. I would love to be able to write like you do. I would totally have writing parties with you if I was close to UT.

Oh man, if we lived in the same town, I would totally be down with a writing party! Any excuse to hand out at B&N, first of all, and secondly, it would really help my concentration in churning these final papers out--or working on my next memoir after school is done. Great idea!

Oh a writing group would be so much fun!!! I am probably the worst writer on the face of the planet, but I still enjoy it!!! My cousin and I have notebooks filled with stories we team wrote back in the day. :)

A writing party sounds like a fun idea. It would stop me from getting up to brew coffee and surf the Internet, like I'm doing now.
