So, I had an epiphany the other night... Scott was MADE for me.
Okay, that wasn't the epiphany (I've known that one for a while). The actual epiphany was one of the many reasons why he is.
With Scott I can have both parts of my life that I want/need:
1) The "steady 9-5 job, the family, working on the yard Saturday mornings, cereal on the dining room floor" life. The important day-to-day stuff.
2) Combined with the "stay up until 3 am, bumping sound system in our car, spontaneous trip, jumping on the bed" life. The craziness that keeps me sane.
I realized this when I was driving in the car Saturday night at 1:13 am, wrapped in my hoody, bumping that "tonights gonna be a good night" song & singing at the top of my lungs.
I'm grateful being a wife & mother-of-two hasn't meant that I give that stuff up.
Who cares that the reason I was driving in the middle of the night was to take the babysitter home after Scott & I went to see IronMan2. And that Scott was at home taking care of a baby who woke up and peed his bed.

those are the best kinds of epiphanies. i've had quite a few whenever i wonder how i've made it through the past 3 years of law school
You go girl...sounds like you found your one and only. My relationship with my hubby is very much like yours. I can still be me...and it's been together for years.
THAT's what it's all about. i hope to be just like that when we start a family. :)
We could tell Scott was made for you, and you for him, when we first met Scott and saw the two of you interact. I have never seen a better fit with a couple than you two, very honestly.
Now you need to print out about five copies of your epiphany and hide them all over your house. On one of those days when you're going through boxes or something and you need a smile, you can read your words and be lifted up a little higher. Reliving that epiphany moment feels so good.
I like Mikes idea. We knew Scott really liked you when he called us and said " I really like her, and you will too. She is a dirt ball like me"...Ok, we were a little worried about that, but life wouldn't be the same without our beautiful "dirt ball" daughter. And you turned out to not be a Dirt Ball!
This sounds an awful lot like my life down to the bumping sound system in the car.
I gotta tell ya, the thing that struck me the most in this post was the 'jumping on the bed' part. It's those crazy things that we gotta do to enjoy life right. I love that Tarl doesnt think I'm totally goofy for still doing that.
Seriously you two were made for each other!! So glad we have good husbands. :)
