5 star book: THE SKY IS EVERYWHERE

Wow, is all I have to say about The Sky Is Everywhere.

The novel follows Lennie whose big sister, Bailey, has just died. She's suddenly at a loss for who she is now & how to deal with her new grief. There's also a really well written love triangle between her dead sisters boyfriend and a new boy in town.

It's emotional, it's hilarious, the characters are fully formed and real, and the best part is the writing. It is gorgeous. I'm not surprised at all that the author has written a lot of poetry because at least once every couple pages I gasped at how lovely something was put.

EXAMPLE:
"Then all of a sudden the breath is kicked out of me and I'm shoved onto the cold hard concrete floor of my life now, because I remember I can't run home after school and tell Bailey about a new boy in band.

My sister dies over and over again, all day long"

Has anyone read this? Wasn't it gorgeous?

excellent review! this is one of the many books i have bought and never read. it's been sitting on my nightstand looking very lonely and neglected for quite a while. i'll definitely move it up to the top of the pile. thanks for the suggestions.

I have read this and I LOVED it. I will admit that the first time I tried to read it, I couldn't. So I put it away and tried again a little while later. Then I really loved it.
