Nana's ingenious gift wrapping

My Nana is the bomb. She lived through the depression & it means she uses everything in ingenious ways.

Example:
For Christmas we got this cute gold rimmed tub filled with homemade caramel corn.

That cute tub... is an old ice cream container covered with wrapping paper.

Pure genius.

Love it!!! My grandpa was the same in terms of clever ways to save money. They funny thing is that he had A LOT of money, but was still re-using scrap wood, straightening nails and screws, re-using paper cups, etc.

Those from the great depression era sure learned how to save money.

Mmmmm, Nana's homemade treats are the best! And yes, she is so good about saving everything! I remember at every family reunion we would have to save the plastic utensils to use for the next meal!

I remember when I realized where she got the little black "trays" that the zuchinni and banana bread slices were on.
That really is a perfect idea with the Blue Bell gold and silver rimmed ice cream.
