So, I write down in the basement & it's freezing down there. And I'm not talking "cold" I'm talking "icy death grip cold".
Down there, I wear layers upon layers. Socks & slippers. A beanie & a hoodie. Even a heating pad on my lap. But while I'm typing my fingers/hands are always cold.
So, I've been on a fruitless quest for fingerless gloves. I must not shop at the "cool kid" stores or something (Do cool kids wear fingerless gloves? See now you all know just how cool I am). I finally broke down yesterday & bought .99 cent stretchy gloves at the grocery store & cut off the fingers.
But I was hoping for ones that stretch up to my elbows or something & to, you know, not look homeless. Any insight fingerless glove wearers out there?

im sure you can find them on etsy, too.
i've seen them at target, although that was christmas time. but they were like $1.50 which is never a bad thing.
In her last blog post Aunt Meredith mentioned crocheting some.
I have searched for fingerless gloves for a long time, particularly for the kind that come with a mitten top you can flip back or fold over your fingers. They are surprisingly difficult to find--in fact, I have yet to find them. (I don't count cycling gloves in this category although technically they are fingerless. They're also relatively expensive.)
I'll certainly let you know if I come across any, but for now, I think you've found the best solution.
I had the same problem driving to work in the mornings.....I wanted my hands warm, but my fingers free...I ended up crocheting myself some very misshapen gloves, but they worked for me. :)
Hi! I can knit you up a pair if you'd like. That way they can be as long as you wish (all the way to the elbow or even beyond!).
Let me know!

I have the same problem, usually while studying late at night after the family has gone to bed. How's a gal supposed to type papers on a laptop (aka, touchpad) without fingers? I have multiple pairs of those cheap 99 cent gloves, and wear them often. After a while, they sometimes get a hole in the fingertips, usually the pointer finger on mine. So, I use those while typing so I can use the laptop touchpad.
creative but ghetto
may need a little bedazzling
I found some earlier this year, those fun kind with the flap you can button back so they're open too. But now that you're wondering I dont remember where it was. I want to say walmart (certainly not a cool kid store) but I even got some in kid sizes too.
HOT TOPIC, baby. And not all of them look like they're from a vampire movie.
Ah, Utah basements. Nice during the summer, but death during the winter. I feel for you. Like Michelle said, you could just crochet your own... youtube has some great videas for learning how!
Ok so I know this post is about gloves but where did you get your great Vneck tshirt? Those are my absolute wardrobe favorite and I am in desperate need of some new ones. If you get a chance could ya email me thorpe.maria@gmail.com. Thanks. P.S. Love you blog.
If you feel like splurging, get some flight gloves. They're designed to not interfere with dexterity, and unless you have a small keyboard, you might not even need to go fingerless. They come in different lengths as well.
If you do need to take off the fingertips, some of the tactical versions are designed with stitching in the fingertips so you can cut the tips off without the rest unraveling.

Or you can search for the 1/2 finger gloves like this one
