Helmet!

I've been a bad blogger today... we've been at the doctors most of the day- we found out Robert needs a helmet for his head. The left back of his head is flat & they are worried if we leave it alone there could be some pushing forward in the front of his face... so HELMET here we come. We go up to SLC for a fitting... I'll keep you updated. I'm kind of bummed out (I know its no big deal but we just got him out of his brace & I'm not ready for more staring). So wish us luck!
P.S. I have the best friends in the world: they offered to go around in helmets along with Rob, Syd & I. As Es said "we'll really give them something to talk about!" Thanks guys!

Ahh, that's too bad Olivia. You are right, it isn't a huge deal, but it is still not fun for him or you. At least a lot more people are familiar with helmets these days. I hope today is a better day!

Ditto what Katie said. Helmets aren't fun. But I just read that recent studies show 1 in 10 babies born in the last ten years or so has a flat spot and will likely need a helmet. It's because you were a good mommy and put Robert to bed on his back. The upside to sleeping on the back is that more babies stay alive now than before because of it. The downside is the head becomes flat, requiring a helmet for a while to reshape it. I think it's a decent trade-off.

He'll match Amelia! She'll almost definately need one, although her head shape is different than his...long and narrow.

A baby in our ward has a helmet and the parents has cute and funny stickers on the helmet that they change often! It's fun.

Your dad and I have decided to start wearing helmets in solidarity, too. :)
