What do you think about these shoes?

I love these shoes! But it's a step away from something I would normally wear- which I'm trying to do. This yellow color is my new favorite right now, what do you think about it? Advice, advice please!

they're definitely something new, but it'd have to be paired with the right outfit to work... like dark jeans, black vest and a beret.

Umm... a vest and a beret, eh? I don't think I could wear a vest by itself or really a beret by itself- so the idea of them together made me laugh OUT LOUD. I'm definitely as cool as Smithy to be able to pull that off. But I still want these shoes.

I think she's right about the dark jeans... but maybe with like a cool black shirt? Which I KNOW is in your wardrobe! And a faux hawk.... so YOU! You gotta get them!

I meant to say NOT as cool as cool as Smithy. She definitely has a better fashion sense then I do.

Hi Olivia, Your dad gave me your blog address and so I check up on your and enjoy your adventures. I feel like I MUST weigh in on the shoes.....If you have to wear a vest and/or a beret to pull it off, I say NO outfit is worth that much prentention. And think of the mocking potential. Don't do it I say!!!

They don't really look that great for just standing still -- I can't imagine how you'll =walk= in them. But they look like they'd be helpful in the garden. You know, shove the toe in to create a hole for the plant, and hammer it in with the heel. :)

i know the exact shoe this is. Its at forever young shoes and its in the ocre color, but patent leather. I too am a big fan of ocre this season, however, the patent leather makes me almost glow which makes them just look like pointy YELLOW shoes which isnt the case. So i would suggest a matte finish and dark skinny jeans.

and there is nothing wrong with vests. try them, you might like it.

I'm surprised by the excitement about these shoes. I'm hearing the points on both sides and see some good points.

All in all, I DO like the shoes. I think you could look very chic with the feux-hawk and a black shirt. I agree with both the dark jeans AND the pencil skirt look.

While I love vests and berets, you'd have to get a pretty cool beret to go with those shoes. Thanks, Heather for the laugh. :)

Liv, you've carried off everything else you've tried fashion-wise and other-wise, so you could prove me wrong (again). I don't know what it is about that style of shoe, though -- ever since I first saw them about a year ago I thought they were incredibly unattractive and looked like torture devices. But what the heck, give it a try. After all, you're buying them for yourself, to make yourself feel good, not to impress a couple of grandpas.
