A while ago my cousin Katie blogged about being at a play & seeing the guy who played Gilbert in the Anne of Green Gables movies. I was floored- I remember having the biggest crush on him when I was young! It got me thinking about the boys I thought were cute when I was a pre-teen. People like Jonathan Brandis (does anyone remember him?), or Rider Strong (from Boy Meets World). Who did you girls have crushes on when you were 11 or 12?

I'm an old lady and I about swooned when you said that someone you know saw Gilbert. My crush was Donnie Osmond - yeah, that shows my age, but it was almost like a spiritual experience when I found out we shared the same birthday (although he is a year older so that makes him 50!)
Well, I grew up watching Nick-At-Nite, so I actually had a huge crush on Davy Jones from the Monkees. I was heartbroken when I saw him on the Tonight Show and realized he was actually WAY older than I thought. Other than that I guess it was Jordan from the NKOTB and Jason Priestly, despite the fact I didn't watch 90210. How embarrassing
Oh my gosh! I totally had a crush on Gilbert too! My other crushes were... dare I say, Joey, Jordan, and Jonathan from New Kids on the Block. I know... embarrassing. :)
I had a crush on Jonathon Taylor Thomas from Home Improvement. I totally remember talking about these boys during the summer with you Olivia.
Whoa! Jonathan Brandis! I totally remember him from Never Ending Story... who knew he killed himself?? Too sad
This is so sad considering I am only 29... I had a crush on Johnny Carson (When I was like 5)! My friends tease me CONSTANTLY!
Pre-Teen crushes included but isn't limited to Vanilla Ice, Michael Jackson, Elvis (until I realized he was dead... again I was 5 or 6) and Mr. Rogers (again teased by my friends) What was with me and old men? Creepy!
