I realized now that Rob knows how to sit up, he could sit in the cart. I wasn't really sure what to do with Syd now but she thought it was awfully exciting to sit on the main part of the cart. All in all it went out well (sibling jealous kept to a minimum) & I'm excited that I don't need drag around his car seat everywhere! WOOT!

Yeah for not carrying around the heavy carseat! Woot! That really is an exciting time!!
My kids are 11 months apart and the little one is ready to move on to the big car seat....how do you haul both of them into the store? And how do you keep the bigger one from throwing all the groceries out?
Gosh, Rob & Syd are 14 months apart and it has been hard figuring out simple everyday errands with the two of them. Most of the time I have to catch Syd on a good part of the day (right after naps & well fed) & hide most of the food behind her. Otherwise she wants to toss it out.
As for getting them into the store I usually grab a cart, pull them out of the car, & stick them right in. I avoid most stores that don't have carts & if I must then I bring my baby sling (it's my best friend)for Rob & have Syd hold my hand (not her favorite activity, though).
So, in short I have no real answers & shopping trips have ended plenty of times with tears. At which point I ditch my cart & go home!
I can't believe how big he's getting! I'm glad he graduated to the cart seat. PLus, he doesn't seem the type to try to dive out, like Syd.
At least if he does dive out he has a helmet to protect his noggin'.
