Winter Blues

Gosh, I really don't like the winter today. I think I must be getting a bout of the winter blues. I don't know if anyone else gets the bummed in the winter but here are a couple suggestions I found & thought I'd share- some exercise, sun or those bright lights (sun boxes), get out of the house despite the weather, & MY FAVORITE... take a trip somewhere sunny during part of the winter (I can just see myself- "No, Scott, we need to go live in Monte-Carlo for a few months... it's for my health... I promise") There are a couple helpful articles here and here.

I feel the same way! I have been dreaming of an island paradise all day! Even Blythe's sunshine would do.

Liv, before I got this job (and before I met your dad) I used to go to visit my parents in Ft. Lauderdale for at least a week every February. Up until the trip I kept chanting, "Just three more weeks...just two more weeks..." until I made it to sunny Florida. Coming back to the cold, after several days in the sunshine, was easy, and the break made everything better. You know my folks would love to have you, Scott and the kids visit -- or, if you need to, take two or three days there by yourself. They've even got a spare car!

One other thing: the medical name for the condition is Seasonal Affective Disorder, and, sadly, that means the acronym is SAD. You'll find tons of info by googling that term.
