National Museum of American History

My favorite museum in Washington DC has to be the National Museum of American History. And believe me I've been to most of the museums, multiple times. As I mentioned in the earlier post, I love American History & there is just something about seeing the items from history that really brings it alive. If you were to visit here's a smattering of what you would have in store.
Abraham Lincoln's Hat, Kermit the Frog puppet, Edison Lightbulb, Jacqueline Kennedy's Inaugural Gown

I'm embarrassed to say, but this is one museum I've yet to make it to. I really want to go! I think it's been closed for a bit, but here's to hoping it's reopened for the summer!

And don't forget to mention it's got one of the original Nauvoo sunstones. The museum is closed for major renovations until this fall, but some of its collection is being exhibited at the nearby Air and Space Museum. Maybe we can all go to DC after the American History Museum reopens. I hope this link to the site on the renovation works -- the museum will be much more open and bright, and the flow of foot traffic much improved:

We had so very little time there when we went for Levi's wedding, but that museum was my priority! Well, after Ford's Theatre.
