REVIEW: El Orfanato

The Orphanage is a Spanish film & I didn't know anything about it when we picked it up (just that the cover looked scary & I love scary movies). It's more intense then gory, & it is quite sad, but it was also BEAUTIFUL. The set, the area it was filmed, the camera work (directed by Guillermo del Toro). All in all, The Orphanage was quite a lovely film!

(Please note: Scott & I have a ClearPlay DVD player that edits the movies [I know, I know all you nay-sayers out there] so I can't attest to how truly disturbing it may actually be , so keep that in mind)

I love Guillermo del Toro! Pans Labyrinth and The Devils Backbone are both pretty creepy too.

I loved this movie too. I think Pan's Labyrinth is more beautiful although not as scary. I heard Guillermo del Toro signed on to The Hobbit - I'm really looking forward to that movie now.
