My Shy Lil' Berto Bear

So, I was starting to worry that Rob was a little developmentally behind (they mentioned that might happen b/c of his helmet which seems SO WEIRD b/c it was SO LONG ago)...

...but he has just BLOSSOMED in the past week or so. Chatting, laughing, counting, ABC-ing, "body-part-pointing-outing".

I tell you I think the real culprit isn't that cursed helmet but rather that he is painfully shy. Poor guy- any advice for a mommy to help push her shy baby without pushing too hard?

Colin was very shy at that age - I would say just love him up and fill him with confidence and don't worry about the shyness unless it causes him pain in the future. Also remember that in a lot of ways boys will seem developmentally slower than girls.

I have no advice for you... but anyone would seem shy compared to syd-o, but you probably know that already! I have learned lots in my education classes that kids need to be socialized too, like hanging around with lots of different peeps, but it seems like you are sooo good about that, so I don't know! But he sure is cute!

Such Cute pictures and such a cute boy! Although I don't see him much, he doesn't seem behind at ALL! He's probably just less vocal because he has such an advanced and outgoing sister! I wouldn't worry! :)

I don't know anything about babies, really - but isn't it common for the 2nd to be less of a talker (= more shy)?

By the way - what a hip mommy you are! Sheesh, I want to be like you!

Yeah that Berto bear is such a cutie and with a superstar big sis like Syd no wonder he's shy!
