Double Dip Revisited

So, Scott & I love Mythbusters. The other day we were watching an episode where they tested double dipping, in fact they tested the exact quote from Seinfeld "dipping & redipping the chip is just like putting your whole mouth in the dip" that I mentioned last double-dipping post.

What they found was SUPER interesting... they found that there is SO MUCH bacteria in the dip (salsa or creamy dip) and on the chips that it didn't even matter if you double dipped. There is so much in there they the one possible drop of bacteria is counteracted by the TONS that is naturally in there.

It made me laugh because this will likely no put any non-double-dippers to rest because it's the just the "idea" that random peeps "mouth microbs" could be in the dip that freaks people out. Just thought I'd put in out there
P.S. BUT when they irradiated (made them sterile) the chips & dip they did see tiny bits of bacterial transferred from double dipping, but no one eats irradiated salsa.

DOES THIS CHANGE ANY MINDS?

That is really funny. It actually does make me willing to double dip now. Bring it on, baby!

You shouldn't be so sure about no one eating irradiated salsa. I'm just saying....

Ah too funny! I'm going to have to tell Jared about this one, although I'm sure it won't change anything. ;)
