The Dark Divine GIVEAWAY!

Saturday my friend Debbie, her friend, & I attended a book launch party for Bree Despain (she's one of the authors I met at that "writer's lunch") at The Kings English (an independent bookstore in SLC). It was hugely crowded, & even though I knew the book was great, I was surprised by the turnout.

We ended up kind of far back & didn't get to hear her beginning talk (I'm planning on going with one of the young women in my old ward to a signing on the 16th, so I'll get to hear it then). But we ended up close to the refreshments & chatting with some nice people.

Eventually we were able to shuffle in to hear her reading & the Q&A. It was nice to hear another "stay-at-home" mom talk about her writing schedule & process.

Then we lined up to met her & get our books signed. She was so nice & was very gracious. She even had little giveaways for everyone too (I'm blogging about that next).

But the good news for you is I'M HAVING A GIVEAWAY! I have an extra of this gorgeous book & it's SIGNED!

And it can be ALL YOURS. The price is twofold:
1) leave a comment (and tell me if you are a follower for an extra entry or become a follower for an extra entry)
AND
2) tell me a couple of your favorite books

Contest ends Friday 8th at midnight! Trust me guys you're going to want to win this one, it's that good.

P.S. Check out Bree Despain's blog here or if you can't wait buy her book here.

I read your blog faithfully but hadn't "officially" began to follow it until now.
I would trust your opinion on just about any book you suggest, so I would totally love to score your extra copy!
And, two books I read in junior high that I loved were The Silver Crown by Robert C. O'Brian and The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth Speare.

I am coming out of lurking to enter this giveaway. Does that count as an extra entry? I've followed your blog for a couple years now, ever since I had my first kid and started blogging. Back then my friends didn't blog and I wanted something to read while nursing so although I don't even remember how I found you now, most likely through the blog of a friend of a friend of a friend. I love your style, your fun party ideas, and your love of pirates. In fact, the book I'd have to recommend is one just out by my friend turned author about pirates. It's called Pirate Slayers: Ghost Waves by W. Everett Prusso available at Borders or on Amazon. Check it out and thanks for this opportunity to win!!

I follow you, of course!
As for a favorite book, there are so many, and I always go back and read them again.
Liz Adair has a trilogy of books that I love. They are "After Goliath", "The Lodger", and "Snakewater Affair". They are all mysteries, with a really great character that solves the mysteries. She takes you all over the western US.
But also, between you and Debbie, I think I just have to read this book. I think you guys deserve to have some something coming your way as unofficial publicists of this book!

Of course I follow you, how else would I recognize the ever changing Berto and Syd!

I have a lot of favorite books, but the one that popped into my mind first was "Alice in Wonderland." A classic...just don't go into the history of Lewis Carroll because he was not a good person.

I love your blog and am a follower. I'm going to need some good reading material in a few weeks when I can't get out of bed and spend all my time feeding a newborn. :)
I don't know if I have a favorite book, but I really like The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom and The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks. I usually enjoy reading the cheesy romance novels. I did enjoy the Twilight books. I also have a book called Letters for Emily by Camron Wright that's really good.
