Cilantro

I love Cilantro. Love. It. I'll eat it in anything & everything.

The last two nights I've had Salmon with Mango Salsa & then Turkey Chili, both of which had copious amounts of cilantro in them.

But recently I've heard that some people HATE cilantro. I just don't see how that's possible.

Totally random, but I just wanted to see if I'm alone in my love of cilantro.VOTE IN THE POLL ON THE TOP RIGHT & fill my curiosity.

Ooooh, this is so funny. I love love love it too. Didn't as a child, but it grew on me. I have copius amounts of growing in my garden in the spring and it is so nice to just hop back there and pick some. Chad feels the same way as I do. LOVES IT. My kids tolerate it, but many many members of my extended family are not too fond of it. We always have to remember not to throw too much of it in when we are cooking for them.

Your dad and I love cilantro and grow it in the garden, but we never have enough, so we still buy it. I didn't used to be a big cilantro fan years ago, but the more I taste it, the more I want to use it. Everything about it tastes fresh and clean, like springtime.

i like it at small amounts. but im not a fan of things that take over tastes so i dont often use it. meaning i feel like cilantro over powers all the other flavors and i cant taste the others as well. stephanie introduced me to it. her and rob are huge cilantro lovers.

Kaite- I had someone tell me, "Eww... this has cilantro in it. It tastes like feet!" I couldn't even taste it! Jealous of your garden. Teach me.

Susan- So glad you stand by me.

Mike- Oh, it's just such a great taste. I don't know what it is but I love it.

Monica- You know, I do tend to like it in things that are spicy or a really strong taste. I think that way it doesn't over-take the other tastes in entree.

Holy votes vs comments batman. Ok I like cilantro in SMALL doses. I used to love Cafe Rio rice but then I started making my hubby some black bean, corn salsa (with lods of cilantro) and after making it so many times (no I can't stomach that salsa) now I can't stand the rice-all I taste is cilantro.

So I voted no since mine is a mostly no but like I said, I can do it in SMALL doses.

One of those things I really wish I liked better, since it is in so many things that I like.

oh goodness... in almost every way I have become a less picky eater in China, but I have discovered that I HATE cilantro. My dad always hated it, so we never really had any growing up, so I never really knew the taste, but now I know, and everytime I get one of those little leaves in my mouth I feel like I'm going to puke!

Sorry for the long comment, but wouldn't you know that I was going to post about cilantro, and my new found hateness?

I commented on facebook about this. Just looking at your picture on here of it so close to your face makes me want to gag. It is like I can smell it through the computer. Bleh.

One of my favorite restaurants here is Firebirds. I get the cilantro grilled chicken every time I go. Love cilantro!

My secret to growing cilantro: bought a plant from Lowe's and planted it. Did nothing. It dies out by mid-summer here, which I was really surprised by. I let the seeds fall, and the next it is re-grew several new plants all by itself. Woohoo! I am hoping it pops up again this year.
