Not-public Public Shirt

Does anyone else have THAT SHIRT? The one that you probably shouldn't wear in public anymore, but you do anyway.

Well, this is mine:

It's so old & washed that it's SUPER thin & I'm pretty sure it's a man's undershirt.
It's fraying along the collar, has a yellow stain on the shoulder.
And I bought it long, long ago from a thrift store- so it could be ancient for all I know.
But it's so soft. So comfy. So cute (in my eyes). So, I still wear it.

And I call this phenomenon a "not-public public" item of clothing & I'm pretty infamous for it. I have "not-public public cardigan" & a pair of "not-public public boots" too.

Am I alone here?

I have an old Toad the Wet Sprocket shirt from high school. Stretched out, holes, bottom, top, & sides freying, but I still sleep in it! Not good for public even, but around the house yes!

If my mom hadn't of thrown away my Eifel Tower shirt from like middle school I'm pretty sure that'd be in this category and I'd still wear it. :) And pretty sure that pic shows off your skinny arms!

I used to have a white shirt just like that. I picked it up in the donation bin in our apartment complex's laundry room. I had to wear a tank top underneath because it was so see-through. But it was COMFY, went with everything, and made me look skinny. Ah, I miss that shirt.

I also had some pants that had holes in the crotch, but they were SO comfy that I continued to wear them until the holes because too noticeable. Sometimes comfort trumps all :)

you really should've taken a picture of your dad's old grey shirt... did it finally die?

I thought the same thing as Smithy! That old gray soft shirt that Scott wears sometimes! It's a GREAT not-public public shirt! AND, I'm pretty sure most people would consider many of my clothes to fall into this category!

I have a couple of t-shirts that I wear out even though there's fixable holes in the underarms. I'm ghetto like that. Ha!

Awesome. I am sure there are PLENTY of those in my closet, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
