WYFIR Conference

Yes, that's right people, I am going to the "Writing and Illustrating for Young Adults" Conference starting June 13th.

Not only am I going, but I signed up for Holly Black's (author of the Spiderwick Chronicles & White Cat) sci-fi/fantasy class. It's a small class, in the morning before the conference, with intense critic of the first 20 pages of our manuscripts.

Yeah, I'm excited & kinda freaked out. And now, I'm working my booty off on those first 20 pages.

So, do you wanna a taste of my story? Maybe my first sentence? Okay, then, here we go...

"This place sucked."

I know, literary genius.

Haha- like I said, I'm editing. Wish me luck!

That's fantastic! I'm so proud of you for following your dreams and really immersing yourself in the literary world and genre that love. You're taking great steps to conduct research, network, and hone your craft.

I'd be happy to help you edit if you'd like an outside reader.

PS I'm going to be in Utah over Memorial Day weekend. Would love to meet up if you have time/will be around.

Good luck! But you should really let us have more than a sentence. A paragraph would me MUCH better ;)
