HOW TO: Keep red hair RED

I've had a couple people comment on how red my hair stays. And, really, red hair fades FAST!

So, I thought I'd share a couple of hints that has keep my red, nice & viberate.

1) Professional hair color: I've mentioned before my lovely hair girl Stacy & she rocks. Professionals can custom mix colors to the exact right shade for you.

2) Color safe shampoo: This is probably one of the best things you can do. I use a brand for thin hair because I have MEGA thin hair but any brand of sulfate-free will keep the color longer.

3) Wash it less: This is where dry shampoo rocks. I really like the brand I blogged about but bought a cheap bottle of Shuave brand & feel like it works just as well.

4) Red shampoo: For some reason "red shampoo" dries my hair out like crazy-town so I don't use it every time I wash but it sure does leave it more vibrant.

5) Keep it out of the sun: This is hard. I LOVE being out in the sun when it's nice outside, especially at the pool. I've just started throwing on a cute scarp to keep my head out of the sun.

Any other suggestions for keeping color treated hair from fading?

When my hair was red the salon told me to wash it in cool water...apparently hot water makes it fade faster.

Good tips. I would also add that there are several different kinds of red shampoo, or shampoos that you can actually add some of the hair color to, and that it will help them to stay vibrant.
Also, a permanent color will stay better than a demi or semi permanent.
What color line does she use? It is amazing color!
