Syd has started to notice SillyBands lately. The thing is that she doesn't quite understand the concept of buying them in the shapes of stuff you like & collecting/trading them.
I'm pretty sure it mostly appeals to her hoarding tendencies.
So, when we were at our local thrift store & the kids were rummaging through the ".29 cent junky kid toy bin" she found a sandwich baggie FULL of silly bands. She went WILD!
The bands are mostly in the shape of hockey stuff & animals but she doesn't care. She wears them with pride.

Oh that's hilarious! Love you Syd!
That's a lot of Silly Bands. She'll be the envy of all her friends.
I love silly bands! That's what keeps Braylee quiet during most of Sacrament meeting. Putting them all on one arm, taking them off and putting them on the other, and then back on the first arm, etc. She only has 12 bands though.
Who can resist so much color? She's a modern Cindi Lauper.
Okay, Gabe has the same hoarding tendencies and just like Syd, he had a huge collection. He would wear them but he also didn't want to do anything else with them...no trading or even looking at what shapes they were. The picture of him in this post reminds me of this post http://rillalev.blogspot.com/2010/09/labor-day-weekend.html
My kids never really got the silly bands bug. My mom sent them some a few times and they kept them safe in a baggie in their rooms!
She is one cool chick!
Sorry, that was me, not the husband.
I love that I was actually there to see the cajoling required to get these shots.
She is the coolest 5 year old I know.
