Camping Fun

The last time we went camping was almost 3 years ago, & it was majorly faux camping. Because, I am NOT a camper by nature &, honestly, camping with kids kinda sucks.

So, we decided to go just up the canyon for one night with Scott's brother & his lovely if Kristal (seasoned campers) & I have to say it ended up being a BLAST!

We hung around the fire chatting, laughing, & telling stories.

And generally re-bonding!
One of my favorite parts was making tasty foil meals (in fact a whole post will be devoted only to the hints I've learned).

The kids LOVED staying up late, playing with flashlights, & throwing logs on the fire.

We woke up having slept decently well & with big smiles!

It was a lot of fun, & while I may not be an "every weekend" type of camper, we will definitely be doing it again!

Cute pictures! I'm not a big camper, but when we went the kids loved it.

How fun! I wish we could have come too! Mirian keeps pointing at the pictures of Sidney and saying her name. She has been talking about Sidney for the last few days, so I think we might need to come and visit soon!

Hey, Holly is in Utah right now, for another week. You guys should meet up, even if not for camping (although she and her family love camping).

We love foil dinners! Sometimes we make them at home just for fun. When I was a kid we'd cut an orange in half and empty it. Then we'd fill it half full of muffin mix and put it in the coals to bake. An odd way to make muffins I admit, but we loved it.

I love foil dinners and I love camping! I have so many good memories from my childhood and there is nothing quite like it for getting out in nature. I am so glad that it was a good experience!

The very best thing about Utah has got to be the ability to "go just up the canyon."
