REVIEW: Lola and the Boy Next Door

Remember my "5-star book love" Anna and the French Kiss? Well, Stephanie Perkins second book, Lola and the Boy Next Door, just came out & can I just say I absolutely LOVED it!

Again, she is an amazing author: her writing, the dialogue, her characters (the main character, Cricket, tops my literary "hot nice guy" list & I love how authentic the characters felt despite some of them being pretty eccentric),. All together it's just a FANTASTIC read.

My 5-star caveat: Everyone I know who read Anna and the French Kiss loved it. It was a book I was comfortable recommending to everyone & I think if you loved Anna you'll love this book too. However, these characters are NOTHING like Anna & St. Claire & in general the book felt more edgy.
Here's the first chapter from Penguins website: it's not quite as instantly gripping as Anna, but give it time: it's sweet, romantic, & loveable.

Has anyone else enjoyed this book? Did you love it?

I need to read both of these after I finish my Becca Fitzpatrick book... which I haven't started yet. Slacker!

I will have to download these to my kindle. I just finished a free book YA fantasy and it was so fun to read. I guess I need more fantasy in my life.

LOVED them both and I think actually I liked Lola more. What do you think? Mrs. Perkins is absolutely in my top 5 (ok possibly in my top 2) favorite authors list.
