A sacrifice that is no sacrifice at all...

My writer group girls are in New York City as we speak. BEA (Book Expo of America) is going on & they packed up to go meet some fabulous authors, sight see, & generally get inspired about writing.

I, however, am not there with them.

Instead I am hanging out with this handsome fellow.

At first, I was pretty selfishly bummed. Had this been a year ago, I could have gone. If this was a year from now, I could have gone. But because I am nursing a new little baby, I really couldn't swing it.

But then I came to this realization...
... if I had to miss such an awesome, once in a lifetime trip...
... this would be the reason to miss it.

Tell me this kid doesn't just melt your heart. He definitely turns me to jelly.

Thanks to my ladies for updates, pictures, & even inspirational Instagrams meant just for me.

Yes! The best reason in the world. My babies have all made my heart go flippity flop.

way to embrace motherhood! at least you've already been to NYC - i personally find it super expensive and stinky (tho not as stinky as china). the big Q is when we are going to do our out of the country trip

It does stink to have to miss out on a fun trip. I'm sorry. Other fun things will come along though I'm sure. Plus when you're ready to go next time, can I tag along too? :)

I assume there will be other Book Expos of America, just as wonderful as this one. This time with Lincoln is sort of a one shot deal. It's here and before you know it, it'll be gone and he'll be wondering where you put the keys to the car.
