Thanksgiving 2012

We had a little Thanksgiving with just our family & I had a realization as I was cooking all day- making Thanksgiving dinner for 4 people seems as time consuming as cooking for a ton of people. Mostly because you still want all the trappings of a Thanksgiving meal & despite me TRYING to make smaller portions it didn't really happen. So, we'll be eating Thanksgiving dinner well into 2013.

The last few weeks we've been doing some actives to help remind us to be thankful for all we have. On the first Family Night of November we made a chain counting down to Thanksgiving with all the things we were thankful for listed (our past year here).

Then for another Family Night we wrote letters to people in our lives that we were thankful for. It was a good time to sit & reflect on the awesome people we are blessed to know.

For Thanksgiving day I spread out a big piece of brown wrapping paper as our tablecloth and we each drew things we were thankful for.

Here's the table, food, settings, etc. It was fairly simple but so much fun to put together & always fabulous to spend time as a family!

And Happy Thanksgiving from the Carter Family!
