...about Sydney Marie Carter- the flap of skin inside that connects your upper lip to your upper gum is too long on her. It extends all the way down between her middle teeth. When we took her to the dentist he mentioned at some point we will need to have it clipped up because it will be difficult to brush and will cause a huge gap in her front teeth too! Poor Syd- has anyone heard of this or know of someone who has had it? Of course the second I ask Syd to see her teeth she clamps her mouth shut & then dies laughing... finally she let me hold her mouth open! It's hard to tell. But, fun facts about the Carter family.

Yes! My lower gum flap had to be clipped. Except no dentist ever told me about it until I was a freshman in college. He said that it being so high up my gum would make my gum recede away from the tooth...? I hadn't noticed it was changing a thing, but maybe it would have happened. I was all numb and the stitches dissolved in a few days. I had forgotten I had to have it done.
