"Just take one dip and end it"

Okay, I've got a confession here... I'm a major double dipper. So much so that I don't even THINK about it. But a while ago my dear friend Cindy blogged about the grossness of double dippers and I realized, embarrassed, that I have done it at her house.

I want everyone to fess up here and now- who's a double dipper out there and who's not?
This way if I'm ever at a party at your house I'll know next time if I can or can't proceed with my bad habit.

Check out this awesome Seinfeld clip (gosh, I love that show)...

Question: Everyone double dips at home, right? Or is that also considered bad?

I don't double dip in social settings. (Liv, how could you?) - My instinct is to turn the chip around to dip from the other side, since no germs would be passed. But I always stop because I worry the people around me didn't see me turn my chip around. These are really dumb things to worry about, I know.

I agree with stephanie. I double dip at home or just w/ family, but I try to avoid it in more social settings

You know me, I'm a big time double dipper as long as I know everyone at the party. If I trust your germs I figure you trust mine. In scenarios where I don't know everyone I never double dip - wouldn't want anyone judging me for it. If I know someone doesn't like double dipping (Cindy) and I'm eating with them I will refrain since I would rather enjoy food with them than double dip myself.

Guilty of double dipping, but if I think about it I try to turn the chip around for the sake of others. I don't care if other people double dip before I take a bite, unless they are sick and drooling.

Long story short, I double dip at home, but manage to keep it under wraps in anything else.

I definitely think double dipping is completely acceptable...otherwise how can you fully enjoy the chip???

Besides, we're talking minimal germs here and they probably just build your immunity, which I consider a good thing!

I like Erin's theory- building up immunity. That's what I'll say next time- "I'm just making ya'll tougher"

I only double dip at home. I've tried the strategy of turning the chip or veggie around but I have the same fear that someone nearby didn't see me turn it around.

I think I've been conscious of trying not to double dip in social settings ever since Sis Blackmer's house.... but of course I do it whenever I can. :)

Double-dipping is the rule in our house. Heather, while you can double-dip at our home anytime, please keep your toothbrush to yourself! *grin*

Forget about the chip, I just stick my finger in the dip and then lick it off! Just kidding! I'm a big time double dipper, but I try to be careful in social settings. Olivia, you can dd with me any day! Em

I'd say 98% of the time I double dip (all the time at home or with family and most of the time with friends). If I notice negative social cues I'll stop with the double dipping and just try to enjoy the one half of my food that is dipped. Lol.

I know I blogged about double dipping, but I have to say... I occasionally do myself. And... if you came to my house, I would not be offended if you double dipped. In fact, I would just be happy you were there! :) Miss you!
