You inspired me to go finish up my tally for last year. In 2011 I read 95 books for a total of 33,238 pages. Only 9 of those books were truly recommend worthy:
Across the Universe, by Beth Revis
The Girl who Chased the Moon, by Sarah Addison Allen
Chains, by Laurie Halse Anderson
Anna and the French Kiss, by Stephanie Perkins
Possession, by Elana Johnson
Revolution, by Jennifer Donnelly
The Five Love Languages, by Gary Chapman
Nefertiti, by Michelle Moran
Everneath, by Brodi Ashton

And my top book for 2011: Everneath. (Too bad I can't lend it out yet, since it hasn't been released.)

I still have your list from last year bookmarked. I really need to get back on the reading wagon. I've been slacking.

Monica- YES! Scott & I go to bed at night and read for at least 1/2 an hour every night- a lot of times more.

Also, I have been taking a lot of baths since I've been pregnant (tons of back pain) and I ALWAYS read in the bath.

And I do carry a book with me everywhere I go. It means anytime I'm waiting or have a second I get some reading in. Also if the kids are playing at a park or at a playplace I get reading in then too. :)

Also, we have reading time on the weekends where Scott, the kids, & I will all just sit and read.

Also, some of those audiobooks that I listen to when on long drives & cleaning!

Hope that helps! :)

Thanks for always keeping us updated with what you have read. I have wanted to read Across the Universe since you first mentioned...and I finally got it from the library to take on our beach trip in August. Didn't get to it while we were there, and guess what? I left it in the condo!!!! I ended up having to pay the library for it and I still haven't read it. Grrrrr.

I'm so glad you are a good reader. I love to read but have always been a slow reader, which meant keeping on deadline in school was a horrific challenge. I like the fact that you're dipping into some classics again. I read far more non-fiction. My favorites this year (both fiction and non-) are:
-Homer and Langley (novel)
-Siddhartha (re-read)
-On Beauty and Being Just (essays)
-Portland Noir (short stories)
-Lullaby (novel)
-Survivor (novel)
-Finding Meaning in the Second Half of Life (non-fiction)
-Why Do I Love These People? (essays)
